About Us
Marcom To Go is a consulting firm specializing in marketing communications services for business-to-business companies in the high-technology sector. as-needed basis. The company principals, Gary and Donna Shuster, are knowledgeable and respected marketing communications professionals with corporate experience working for such companies as Intel, Motorola, NEC, Mentor Graphics and Advanced Micro Devices. All clients receive the direct attention of one of the principals. |

Donna started her career at Intel Corporation where she spent seven years in both corporate and product marketing communications. She founded the company’s customer magazine, Microcomputer Solutions, and, as marcom manager for the microprocessor division, she was instrumental in the launch of the 186 and 286 microprocessors. In the following years, Donna worked in marcom management positions for Actel, VLSI Technology, Cypress and IDT and director-level positions at Motorola Computer Group, Mentor Graphics, Sterling Software, epicRealm and Gnubi Communications. Donna has launched new products and new companies, hired and managed staffs of up to 15 people and budgets up to $50 million. She's also worked with very small staffs or no staff at all in companies where the Marcom budget was less than a million dollars. Her experience spans all the communication channels including strategic planning, advertising, public relations, collateral production, direct mail, website development, and trade shows. Donna was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and attended Youngstown State University where she majored in English. She has also lived in California, Oregon, Hawaii, Arizona and Texas.

Gary began his career in semiconductor design, but soon found that his fellow engineers were coming to him to write their datasheets and application notes. In 1975 he decided to go with the flow and for the next ten years he worked as a full-time technical writer and editor for Intersil, Rolm, Advanced Micro Devices, and finally, NEC. In 1995 he went freelance and has worked for such companies as Hitachi, Intel and DSET.
Gary is an articulate translator of technical concepts into plain English. He is our main writer and editor of datasheets, technical articles, white papers, manuals and guides. He is also a professional voice talent and can offer a smooth delivery of even the most complicated material. Always a problem-solver and technology-lover, Gary embraced the Internet as soon as it was a viable business environment. He created and maintains both the Marcom To Go web site and Marcom Central community site. Gary is a native of San Lorenzo, California. He attended the College of San Mateo and San Jose State University and has a degree in Physical Science.
